Beulah Baptist Church in February 2007 began a global missions emphasis in West Africa, with a team of four heading to Bamako, Mali, in what would be the first of five trips this year. The church is planning for seven return visits in 2008.
The church's goal in West Africa is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to plant churches. Beulah has partnered with the International Mission Board to rech the Bambara people group. They are 4 million in number, with less than .001%
Christian.
Team members spend the bulk of their time in bush villages about 2 hours from Bamako. In June 2007 construction was finished on a 12x12 mud hut where our mission teams set up their base of operation while there.
We have planted one church with over 40 baptized believers currently in F village, and know that there are overflow believers now in 6 other villages.
